The refuse collection scheduled for Tuesday 13 July has been missed. SODC has been notified – twice – and the advice is to leave bins outside for collection.
For reference, missed collections can be notified to SODC via this link.
Notification must be made no later than close of business the day after the scheduled collection.
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is currently researching the impact of mobile coverage in rural areas. This is part of its Shared Rural Network programme which aims to increase mobile network coverage across the UK to 95%.
It wants to find out how this programme can help individuals in their daily life.

The July meeting of the parish council is being held in Aston Rowant Church. There is no meeting in August and it will be back to Kingston Blount Village Hall in September.

Among all the usual sites you’ll find a mobile Post Office that visits Tetsworth on Wednesdays between 1000 and 1100hrs.
The police are warning of a Covid vaccine passport scam email that is going around that purports to be from the NHS and informs recipients that they can apply for their “Digital Coronavirus Passports”
Clicking on the link within the email, leads to a convincing but fake NHS website that asks for personal and payment details – and an admin fee.
The website has since been taken down, but similar emails and websites may be appear. Please be vigilant.
To reiterate, an individual’s vaccination status can be obtained free through the NHS App, website or by calling the NHS on 119.
Sadly the weather tonight (Friday 18 June) has meant that junior training has been called off. The bar, however, will be open, but no football will be shown.
Saturday 19 June, the 2nd and 3rd teams are playing at home. The bar will be open and the fish and chip van will be onsite from 7.30pm.
On Sunday 26th June the 1st team are playing Ealing at home in the next round of National Cup.
Aston Rowant Cricket Club is holding a summer camp for all junior members, friends and children in the surrounding area. The camp is on from 26-30th July, 9am to 4pm. It’s aimed children aged 6 to 14. All abilities are welcome.
The course is being run by Gordon Harris and Adam Muttitt. Gordon currently works as a games teacher at Gayhurst School and is an ECB level 2 coach. Adam works as a PE teacher at Caterham School and has just completed his ECB level 3 coaching qualification. The coaches volunteer for junior training on Fridays, are qualified and have been DBS checked.
The camp is being held at Aston Rowant Cricket Club, Butts Way, Aston Rowant and costs £35 per day or £150 for the week. A 15 percent sibling discount is available. For those needing it, an early drop-off or late collection is possible.

Regrettably Oxfordshire County Council has had to withdraw funding for the Saturday service for the 275 bus with immediate effect following a consultation. The move comes as Covid has dented the demand for travel .
The change isn’t ideal but it preserves the route for users Monday to Friday.
Aston Rowant Cricket Club, in association with Bear in the Air Productions, is putting on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
It’s on Sunday 22 August at 1800hrs.
This is a fund-raising event and a share of the ticket price goes to the club.
