Change to SODC services including bin collections

SODC will be closed on Monday 19 September for the public holiday to mark the occasion of the Queen’s funeral. As the offices will be closed, the books of condolence will not be available to sign that day but will be open again on Tuesday 20 September.

Biffa has confirmed that waste collections will not be going ahead on that day either and so collections next week will take place a day later than scheduled, with an extra collection on the Saturday to catch up – this is the process we follow after a normal bank holiday.

SODC’s leisure contractor has also confirmed that all of leisure centres and facilities will be closed on 19 September.

SODCs emergency out of hours service on 01235 422410 will be available as normal while the council is closed.
