Overgrown Hedges
As the growing season continues, residents are kindly reminded that under Section 154 of the Highways Act 1980, landowners and occupiers are responsible for ensuring that trees, hedges and shrubs bordering their property do not obstruct or endanger users of the public highway, including roads, pavements and public footpaths.
Vegetation is growing rapidly, and overgrown hedges can restrict visibility, force pedestrians into the road and make it difficult for wheelchair users, pushchairs and mobility scooters to pass safely.
Please help to keep our highways and footways clear by trimming back any overhanging vegetation from your property. Your cooperation helps to keep everyone safe and our parish looking its best.
