On Tuesday 18th November, the very best of our carefully curated makers, growers and artisans will come together to provide a magical shopping experience whilst raising funds for two local charities that touch hundreds of lives each year: SeeSaw Oxford (child bereavement services) and Style Acre (supporting young people with autism and learning difficulties with living and employment help).

Come and shop, buy a raffle ticket or two and bring your friends.

Ibstone is holding its annual show and fete on Saturday 3 August at 1300hrs.

The event is being held on Ibstone Common.

A note from Towersey Fringe:

“Now in its eighth year, this year’s Towersey Fringe looks set to be the best yet!  This two day event, held on Saturday 26^th and Sunday 27^th August, has become a firm fixture in the local calendar.  It is all held on Towersey Playing Fields, is run entirely by volunteers, and is held to raise money for a new, fantastic sports pavilion and facilities on the Towersey Playing Fields.

Why not have a great laugh by coming along on the Saturday evening to the ticketed comedy event held undercover in a marquee.  This year we are very excited to announce that the headliner is none other than Milton Jones, a regular on Mock the Week, who is making room in his tour schedule to visit Towersey.  You can also see the hysterical Tom Elwes, Leroy Brito and Emman Idama, all brilliantly compered by Cerys Nelmes.

The infamous Fringe Bar will also be open on the evening selling everything from a Pint to a Pimms, and there will be a selection of delicious street food available too if you’d like to make a night of it.

On the Sunday,  the most fantastic day of family fun is held which is free entry, so just pitch up.  Nine local bands will be playing, there is lots of entertainment for children, a silent disco so you can dance like no-one’s watching and a retail village if you fancy a bit of browsing and buying.  A great choice of street food plus our brilliant Fringe Bar are both available to keep you fed and refreshed.  It’s a great day out for the whole family.

Adwell Vintage Vehicle Show takes place on Sunday, 9^th July and will feature a variety of cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, and vintage farm machinery.

For those who want a quiet walk, the Adwell Gardens are open and the roses should be in full bloom. There is no extra charge for visiting the gardens, and there will be a charity Pimms tent on the lawn for those who need a refreshing drink.

This year there’s a new element, a dog show.

The charity supported by the show this year is the Goed Life. The Goed Life enhances the lives of people with learning disabilities, helping them find meaningful employment while offering support to them and their families. thegoedlife.com gives more detail on what it does.

The show runs from 12:00 until 5:00.
