It is well connected to a wide range of local organisations and can make onward referrals to help residents get the help they need to stay safe and well in their homes.

Casual Vacancy Notice
/in News /by Adam BernsteinPublic notice is hereby given that due to the resignation of Councillor Clark-Hodgson a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for Aston Rowant Parish Council.
The vacancy will be filled by election if, within fourteen working days of the date of this notice, any ten local government electors for the said parish submit a written request to:
The Returning Officer, South Oxfordshire District Council, Abbey House, Abbey Close, Abingdon, OX14 3JE.
In computing these fourteen days mentioned above you disregard a Saturday or Sunday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday or a bank holiday or a day appointed for Public Thanksgiving or Mourning.
If no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by co-option by the Parish Council.

Santa to visit the parish…
/in News /by Adam BernsteinChinnor Village Centre has asked Santa Claus to visit our parish and he’s coming on Friday 15th December between 1800 and 2000hrs.
He’s visiting Kingston Blount only as his sleigh is said to have difficulty navigating Aston Rowant’s lanes.

KB play area: Fundraising update
/in News /by Adam BernsteinWe’ve raised £29,500 since March!
We have been applying for grants but now just have one large SODC grant remaining and a few smaller grants that we will apply for next year.
Currently, project delivery in summer 2024 is still achievable but this depends on our success with the SODC grant in March.
Whilst we await our fate we have started planning ahead for 2024 to reduce our reliance on grants.
While the primary focus of this project is young children, the whole community will benefit from the installation of an outdoor bench seating area, cleaned adult exercise equipment and the reconfiguration of the playing field, making this community asset more user friendly.
The refurbished playground may also help support our local business by bringing in additional customers as well.
We are doing all we can but we wanted to make an appeal to you, the KBAR community, to make a donation as beneficiaries of this project.

New Year Walk – Sunday 7 January
/in News /by Adam BernsteinAston Rowant Parish and Thame and Wheatley Ramblers New Year walk is open to anyone who can walk 6.5 miles.
It’s on Sunday 7 January 2024, meeting at 10.00 am promptly at the side of Mercure Thame Lambert in Aston Rowant OX49 5SQ.
Please park along the quiet road at the side of the hotel.
This is a circular leisurely walk through the Aston Rowant Nature Reserve and over Bald Hill, through the Wormsley Estate and returning through Lewknor. We expect to be back by 13.00. There are two hills, some outstanding views and only one stile.
There will be some mud, but we’ve chosen the driest route for this time of year. Walking boots or walking shoes are recommended.
You could finish with lunch at the Lambert Hotel. However you do need to book with the hotel. Another alternative would be to have lunch or a drink and a snack at the Leathern Bottle in Lewknor where no booking is required.
No booking is required for the walk. Please – no dogs except registered assistance dogs.
