Thame Cycling Club will be riding up and down Aston Hill (the A40) 76 times in aid of Helen and Douglas house.
The full details are in the attachment below. However, the club is well aware of the need to not create a nuisance and so will aim to keep no more than 20 cyclists on the hill, spread out singly, at any one time.

We’re pleased to confirm that the Kingston Blount play area was opened on Friday 20th July following two weeks of refurbishment works.
The initial feedback from families who have used the new and improved playground has been incredibly positive and we hope that the facility continues to service and delight local children for years to come.
We are grateful to everyone that has helped us to deliver this phase of the project and we’d like to give particular thanks to Peter Tinson, Cllr. Helen Birks and our chosen supplier – Discovery Timber Play – for making this a reality.
We are currently working to finalising some small finishing touches and we also hope to provide an update on the delivery of the zip wire and picnic bench seating soon.
Thank you to you all for your support and your patience during this process.

The first team are playing Banbury first team starting at 11.30. And the fourth team are playing Chesterton first team on the bottom field.
The second and third teams are away at Leighton Buzzard and Long Marston respectively. All four teams are playing their opposition first teams which says much about the strength of our club.

A large solar farm is likely to be proposed for a site adjacent to the parish – either side of the M40 from Nethercote to Salt Lane in Postcombe.
It’s not an official planning application yet. However, the firm behind the site recently held a consultation for the public. The documents from the presentation are below. Please take a moment to look at them and if appropriate, send a comment.
In essence, while the parish council is supportive of eco-friendly ways of generating power, it voted to object to what is currently being proposed.
Scale – at 83 hectares it’s too big.
Location – it’s too close to the Chilterns AONB and far too visible to walkers.
Proximity – it’s too close to housing in Postcombe.
Further, there’s another solar array a few miles further north in Tetsworth that is being built. It too is alongside the M40.
Detail on the proposal is at lewknorsolarfarm.co.uk.
Those who may not have internet access or may prefer to write to Solar2, can call01352 748300to request a paper version to be posted out to them which will need to be completed and returned in an envelope addressed to ‘FREEPOST Consultation reply’ (no further address or stamp required) by 2 August 2024.
If you have a view on the proposal, please make it known before it’s too late.
