Burglary in Aston Rowant
/in News /by Adam BernsteinBetween the hours of 1030 and 1330, Wednesday 23 April, a house in Plowden Park was broken into.
A window was prised open and the house ransacked. Nothing of note was taken; presumably the thieves were looking for cash or cards.
The householder wants to stay private so the parish council can reveal no more.
Please be on your guard for anything suspicious – people or vehicles. Call 999 if a crime is in progress or 101 if not; jot down details of what you have seen while the memory is fresh noting car model, plate and colour and similarly, people descriptions such as height, hair, clothing and so on.
Don’t hold back – tell the police if something doesn’t seem right.
Remember that we could all be a target if we do not look out for one another.
Easter bin collections
/in News /by Adam BernsteinBin Collection Changes for Easter
South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has advised that due to the public holidays, it will be emptying bins a day later than usual between Good Friday 18 April to Saturday 26 April.
Residents are reminded to recycle cardboard boxes and foil wrapping from Easter eggs, which can all go in the green recycling bin.
However, be sure to remove any soft plastic egg-holders and film windows first. Plastic holders and film must go in the black rubbish bin, or they can be taken them to a supermarket’s soft plastics collection point.
More details are here.
